SUSTAINABILITY

The First Carbon Neutral Certified Bottled Water

Since Icelandic Glacial's inception, sustainability has been in our DNA

Icelandic Glacial has worked with The CarbonNeutral Company, a leading carbon emissions consultant, since 2007, and has been certified CarbonNeutral for both product and operation - an unprecedented move in the beverage industry.

Icelandic Glacial made a commitment to reach a target of net-zero Greenhouse Gas emissions, and continuously carry that out through a combination of internal reductions, environmental instruments and investments in renewable energy and reforestation projects around the world.

A Sustainable Source

The Ölfus Spring, the source of Icelandic Glacial is naturally replenished by the abundant rainfall and snowmelt in the northern mountains of Iceland. Bottling less than 0.1% of the overflow to the sea, The Ölfus Spring has been declared certifiably sustainable by Zenith International.

Green Energy Sources

Taking advantage of Iceland's natural energy sources, our state of the art facility is fueled entirely by geothermal and hydroelectric power. The water collected flows directly from the source to our bottling plant, located at the edge of the Ölfus Spring.

Recyclable Packaging

Icelandic Glacial's commitment to sustainability is reflected in the bottle and cardboard packaging, both of which are 100% recyclable. In addition to our glass line, we offer BPA-free high-grade rPET bottles, that will be increasing to 50% post-consumer recycled plastic by 2021.
